I have to say 2018 has been the start of my quarter life crisis… It’s all to easy if you over think like I do… Like, what have I accomplished in the past 22 years? What about you? This can be such a great thing though. If it wasn’t for this I wouldn’t have run back to my dream of teaching and I wouldn’t have pursued going back to school. I know I have people in my friend group who are out there changing the world and it makes my achievements feel miniscule and a little selfish compared to theirs.
It is difficult to speak about what life truly means because there is no definite answer. However, I believe that the meaning of life isn’t what you create but the effect that you make on others; I don’t mean that to say being the most popular person ever is being successful as much as I mean the positive impact you make on your community and other people’s lives.
Another major thing out now is the sphere of influencers; there are so many of them but the ones I have the most impact from are youtubers. There are so many vloggers who put it all out there and open themselves to critique and criticism in many cases to get out there and help people or to make people feel good. For my generation, it can make it that much easier to see what other people are out there doing and what we aren’t. The thing that we don’t realize is that influencers only put out what they want us to see. We may see minutes of their day but that leaves 23 hours and 55 minutes that we don’t.
Life can be terrifying but at the end of the day it truly is what you make it. Happiness is so important in life; as the saying goes, you can’t pour out of an empty cup. You can’t help other people grow if you yourself don’t have that capability. I’m working on a new series for the new year which will be focused on goals and achievements for the year to help me let myself grow out of this phase of stagnation I have found myself in. Have you ever experienced a quarter life crisis? How did you deal with it? Let me know in the comments below!
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a productive day! 🙂
