    My favorite quote

“The poet is a liar who always speaks the truth.”Jean Cocteau unsplash-logoMbalimbali This is by far my favorite quote right now. The reason for that being it has so many different meanings. I may not know exactly what Mr. Cocteau was trying to achieve when saying this, but we can chat about what I read into his quote.      One thing I read into this quote being the fact that the universal truth is almost always different from what our truth is. Let’s say you and your best friend get in a fight, there will be your perception of the event, your friend’s perception of the event, and what…

    Series changes

To welcome in the month of October we will be temporarily discontinuing the college survival guide. However, in lieu of that series we will have a Halloween themed series every Wednesday for the month of October. Also, for the month of November we will introduce NaNo Saturdays to go along side National Novel Writing Month! This will include tips, tricks, and a community for us to write our novels together. As always, I hope you have a productive day! 🙂

ACT prep 02 (Deadlines! Deadlines! Deadlines!)

The ACT is sneaking up on me; my only wish was that I went straight through college instead of having to relearn everything. One lesson this has taught me, is that I wish to be a lifelong learner Life isn’t about taking the steps in the right timing as much as in the right order. Each person has his or her own timing in how to live life. It is not right or wrong to live your life in your time. unsplash-logoJon Tyson The big idea: Just a friendly PSA, because I almost made a big mistake and missed the picture deadline. Don’t forget about any deadlines involved in this…

    What is success?

Y’all, Success can seem like such an unachievable thing to us at times but it doesn’t have to be; Success is such an easy thing to breach. Our issue is what society perceives success as. For so many, success is having lots of money or being a household name, but I don’t believe that is what we should be pushing for. We’ve heard an endless amount of famous people say that money does not buy happiness and I think this is where true success comes into play. I think that true success comes in two different forms; the first one being the importance of what you leave behind you after…

    ACT prep 01 (Study tips)

Y’all, I take my ACT next month and ,just so you know, I am so not prepared for it! Working full time for sure makes it tougher to learn stuff that I haven’t learned in the past four years. That being said Flashcards are a life saver! All throughout high school I relied heavily on them and pneumonic devices, and trust me they are your best friends when it comes to ACT prep. Also, get an ACT study guide. I used ACT for Dummies. The big reason that flashcards work is it uses all of the main ways people learn. You get the opportunity to read it, write it, and…

    Motivational Monday 01

I think the most important lesson I’ve learned in the past couple years is that life is what you make it. Don’t like your friend group? Make a new one. Don’t like your housing situation? Find a way out. Sometimes circumstances may be time consuming but there is usually a way out. It may be hard, but it’s always worth it if it results in your happiness. What would life be if everything was easy? If we didn’t have trials then we wouldn’t be able to appreciate the tribulations. I think you learn so much more about who you are as a person when nothing is going your way than…
